Lauri @ Saimaa Open Air 2011
I knew from the very first thought when we decided to attend this gig that this is gonna be the most adventurous of all of them. Well, it turned out to be so! First we left to the train station and just 3 minutes before the start Barbi noticed she doesn’t have an ID with her, and we were Interrailing [and you need one for that, pass or ID]…well well the conductor was nice enough to understand it, so this was fine, remains to see if we have a nice one on the way back home too. Halfway to Imatra we realized we forgot to note down how to get to the festival! Yay for you girls! So we took a taxi, with 2 other ppl who were coming to the festival too and met at the railway station. Good, 20e for 7km, eh? We got there safe and sound, had our quick lunch and then met with Cora and Ramona with who we spent the day together… ouje!
I don’t know what to say, it’s a few possibilities in my head: 1. ppl don’t know who Lauri is when they announce it, 2. they don’t know about his new stuff and don’t come, 3. they don’t like it…why? Because it seemed to me that we were even less people than at Tammerfest; though Lauri posted on his Facebook that this was the best gig so far. Oh well, guy if you say so, then okay! I like it too. He played the same setlist [whole New World + Sophia] just as at Tammerfest, but somehow some of the songs seemed to be a bit more different.
Pauli was at the gig too, just before Have a Little Mercy Lauri dedicated the song to him…so i guess he had a big role somehow in that song, who knows.
And yet again it feels like the songs sound much better live than recorded…I could even get used to listening to Because of you or Got you on my mind…………………
