I don’t even know where to start the whole thing. It actually all began the day before the gig. so i guess i will start there. The previous day i went with my parents to meet up for the first time ever with Oana at her grandparents’ place. Arrived there before her so had also the chance to meet her cousin. It was a long hour that passed until she have finally arrived. After dinner my parents left and we’ve been up until around midnight chatting and guessing how the gig will be, and what shall we do while waiting for it to start. After going to bed, was like hell on earth for me, though i was really tired and sleepy couldn’t sleep much. At 5AM i was awake and been waiting for Oana’s alarm to go off and then at 6AM we took our way to Bucharest; finally.
It was a long way, rainy and stormy, sunny and hot, everything that you wanted to make the atmosphere of the upcoming gig hotter and hotter. Arriving to Bucharest we’ve found pretty easy where the festival was held and after an hour or so of waiting for one of our friends we got in. There wasn’t too much people around, so we thought to buy something to drink and then go to the front of the stage to make sure we can enjoy out fav band from the first row.
The afternoon passed away pretty hot, with a temperature of over 42C in the shadows. As it was a quite badly organized festival i think i don’t have to mention that we haven’t got the opportunity to meet the guys either before the gig and either after it.
Before The Rasmus there was a Swedish band called Backyard Babies playing. I must say that they are not my kind of music, and their appearance is leaving some kind of impressions still on me, but i keep it for myself, i don’t want to offend anyone here. The singer of the band asked at about the end of their set if we want to see The Rasmus and the whole crowd formed of girls started screaming “YES!”
was a strange feeling to know that a few more minutes and i’ll be only a few meters away from my idols.
There was a 10 minutes late of the start of the gig because of the technical problem they had with the microphone, but finally the Guilty Intro could be heard and the guys showed up on the stage. Was one of the best moments i have ever been going through until that day of my life. As always Lauri surprised the fans speaking the local language and he asked us in romanian how are we
(“Ce faceti?”), he sounded a bit weird, but still was nice of him. Later he also asked if we like The Rasmus
(“Va place The Rasmus?”). Then came the setlist which i will try and remember: Guilty, First Day of my Life, Keep Your Heart Broken, Immortal, F-f-f-falling, In My Life, acustic set of Not Like The Other Girls and Chill spiced up with the well known song of O-Zone: Dragostea Din Tei, Liquid, No Fear, Sail away and In The Shadows. Wasn’t a so long set but it was enough to make a lot of people feel. At Immortal Pauli came down from the stage and i managed to touch his hands (which were really really warm). At the Dragostea Din Tei cover everyone was laughing really hard, i guess no one really expected them to sing something like that
even them have been laughing about it.
It was a nice memory and as many say, it’s always the first time that leaves the deepest feelings and memories. Probably it wasn’t the best gig out of all i have been to (moreover i can say it was the worse, in the meaning of that the festival was of a low quality and bad organization), but i will still remember it forever… “Forever and after my love”.
I took some pictures that turned out to be totally crap, then some videos that are on my YouTube Channel but they are with the original songs as my old camera couldn’t record sound. If anyone would like to check them out just go here.
Arrived home 4 in the morning, and really been tired but all-together i slept 5 hours and been up.
